NORMANDY - FINAL UPDATE

Better late than never!  WiFi problems in Normandy... hence the delayed update...

Y7 pupils invade a French market place and buy local produce for the splendid picnic lunch later. A few good hagglers were born today and great bargains were discovered - 5 French cheeses for 5 Euros was a steal!

From here, we went on to travel along a beautifully scenic train route by velorail (four man cycle powered buggies). Fortunately, the weather held through our cycling, but broke just as we started to tuck into the delicious feast that we had bought at the market place.  One of the old rail carts was opened up specifically for us, and it was none too soon: the heavens opened

The rain stopped before we changed and got into our kayaks. Sadly, the weather didn't hold, but by the time the rain started falling again, we were so wet that we didn’t care! It was warm and so a fun time was had by all.

Wet but happy the Latymerians returned to the farmhouse to enjoy a tasty and filling lasagne, followed by a great fruit, meringue, crème fraiche and chocolate pudding concoction!

ARDECHE ADVENTURE - LAST DAY

We're enjoying our final afternoon with a spot of abseiling and climbing. This morning was spent bodyboarding until a big sea mist rolled in.

LONDON MULTI SPORTS - GO-KARTING

Our last day was spent go-karting at Surbiton raceway. Here is one of the teams ready for the race.
The first lap!

Towards the end of the race with the teachers' kart in first place....Mr Lewis gets hauled into the sin bin for a minor infraction by the extremely biased referees. This wasn't enjoyed AT ALL by the other teams!

The deserved winners celebrate their victory!

TOUR DU MONT BLANC - FINAL STAGE

Woke up at 2,000 metres next to a glacier in Italy, trekked through it and back to Chamonix in France.

THEATRELAND - FINAL DAY

Our final day devising collaborating and creating with actors from the National Theatre...

... followed by a visit to Borough Market , street art and finally a musical at The Menier Chocolate Factory. Perfect.

LIVE BLOG DRAWS TO A CLOSE...

Welcome back to those who have already returned; we wish a safe journey to those in transit or returning at the weekend and are looking forward to hearing all about your experiences!

Trip leaders will ask pupils to text parents with any changes to travel plans or ETA.

That's all for now, folks! The blog may be updated after the weekend with more photos and posts.

SNOWDONIA - UPDATE

Fresh air, beautiful scenery, a lot of water - and being caught between a rock and a hard place!

PEAK DISTRICT EXPLORERS HEAD HOME

We are on the train home now. Have said fond farewells to our trusty guides who have been very patient with the southern softies with their blisters and terrible walking songs. Reached civilisation at Buxton after our last 8 mile trek across lovely rolling hills. Drizzle set in at last moments; we have been so lucky with the weather!

On our last night we enjoyed a talent show and second round of Mr Henwood's quiz. In fact it was pretty much a lack-of-talent show although Remy Chopra's juggling was impressive. All tired now as we chug towards Stockport and the fast train to London.

We are proud to have walked the Peaks and to have enjoyed the beauty of these hills.

ISLE OF MAN - DAY 4

On day 4 of the Isle of Man, we have been gorge walking and coasteering, had an archery and shooting competition and tackled an assault course!

Mr Willingham took a death-defying leap into the sea...
... and then we celebrated Madeleine's birthday with the world's biggest cake!
